I started having severe nerve pain in my tooth late Friday night around midnight. I spent the next few hours searching for a dentist with weekend hours or emergency appointments available since I was unable to sleep due to the severe pain. I contacted several dentists in the area that stated they had emergency or weekend appointments available. While I was waiting to hear back from someone, I used a temporary otc cement, which significantly reduce the pain I was experiencing. Lilly, from Belmont Dentistry is the only person that contacted me back early Saturday morning offering an appointment, squeezing me in that afternoon. Since I had reduced pain and most likely needed an extended appointment to address my issue, I took the first available appointment a few days later in the afternoon after work. All new patient paperwork was sent via text and able to be completed on a mobile device. The office is modern, clean, and decorated nicely. Lilly, the same person who texted me on Saturday was the receptionist and was extremely polite, understanding, and knowledgeable. I saw Dr. Erin Hong and Dental Assistant Aaron- both were professional and personable. I subsequently needed a root canal and crown and would have had to make another appointment for the crown to be placed because the office had already closed. Understanding it would have been very difficult to come back the following day, Dr. Erin and Aaron graciously stayed to finish the crown for me for which I was very thankful. On a side note: I am notoriously difficult to numb- Dr. Erin easily was able to numb the side with a block making the whole procedure completely painless. It was extremely convenient they are able to print high quality crowns right on site, reducing the need to come back for another appointment, once crowns were made offsite which is what I have experienced at other dentists in the past. I recommended Belmont Dentistry to my employees as well as anyone else looking for a fantastic dentist and we’ll run practice.

My experience overall was good. However, I found the process of numbing to be unnecessarily rushed and did not receive enough pain medication. When I said something, the doctor said “I’m almost done” and continued drilling. Great dental assistant and front desk team- very kind and helpful. Doctor could do with improved bedside manner and listening to his patients about their comfort/ not rushing the numbing process for painful dental work.

I don’t know where all the positive reviews came from. This is a nice new office, and the staff all seems very nice. But they will try to sell you on services that you do not need. As a new patient, I was walk through the fancy new office and specifically shown the machine that makes crowns the same day. I was asked by no less than four employees, whether I had a bite guard, and was hard sold on it. Then, after doing my cleaning and being seen by the dentist, I was told that I needed two different crowns. I go to the dentist, every four months, and my previous dentist had found nothing in that time, so I was very surprised that I needed to separate crowns after having just seen a dentist four months prior. I have course got a second opinion, and told the next dentist absolutely nothing, and they told me there was nothing wrong with my teeth. When I relayed what Belmont her diagnosed me with, they were horrified and told me there was absolutely no way I needed any crowns.

My hubby and I moved to Scottsdale nearly a year ago and found Belmont Dentistry to be the most professional and personable dentists we’ve had since moving to AZ. They never try to sell add-ons and their work is perfect. The staff is extremely efficient, very helpful and also personable. We won’t go anywhere else.
